I have a brand new dreambox 500-c and i am having trouble getting started.

i have an ntl/virgin cable coming through my wall, but scanning yields no channels whatsoever. i know now that i must flash the box with an emulator and keys. but i do not know where i should start to do this.

i have read its possible to connect to the box with an ethernet cable but i have no clue what to do or where to get these required files. i would prefer this method as i dont have a null modem cable and dont believe my computers have the apropriate port.

if anyone could help me get going i would greatly appreciate it.
    thanks

People make their minds up based on varied opinions, as I say look at all user reviews/comments not just here but elsewhere, an educated research method is always required when deciding upon which box suits.

Not talking about genuine v clone boxes, one person's opinion doesnt dictate a decision a bit of research is all that is required, many opinions make a more valid decision process.

BTW I think we have highjacked the OP's thread enough :)

My opinion is rated quite well here so any one who puts their name, phone number and a map to there house when they are selling flashed boxes isnt exactly the sharpest pencil in the box.

Have a look here you will find a lot of info http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6/488900. You will also find the DW 2.0 image and a full users guide,in the Dreambox folder of Eamos FTA Library at the end of my post. Easiest method to flash is with dreamup and a null modem cable.
