Hi piopat, echo 10 here again I have the 9 pin null modem cable and have also download the firmware and loader. I will be looking forward for hear from you thanks for everything. Echo 10 out.
hi echo,ok connect up your dm500c to your pc with the null modem cable,but do not plug in the dm500c.now open dream up and click on connect.in the status box you will see messages appear saying connecting to box ,talking to box and then it will say now power up box(when you see power up box plug it in).on the top of the screen you will see seriel port(see what com port is set,i would say start at com1). now clock on flash ,you should be shown a screen to choose the firmware to flash(choose the firmware you downloaded by clicking on it)a message will appear on screen saying some thing like erase previous flash click on no.all being well the box should now be flashing(it will take about 10 minutes or so)the status box will show you the progress ,if it is not flashing at this stage you may need to change the com port(so change from com1 to com2 and try again).all being well now after about 10 to 15 minutes your box will be flashed(do not disconnect the box untill the flashing process is complete)now disconnect and unplug your box and hook it up to your tv.when your box is connected up to your tv press menu and select shutdown and reboot(the box will shut down and then restart and on screen you should see something like switching on evocamd)now the box is back on go to sky sports or sky one and wait a minute or two and the channels should unlock.if it is not unscrambling the channels at this stage you will need to flash it again but with an updated firmware or image(if you need to flash again get a newer firmware or image and go through the process above again,except when the message appears; erase last flash;this time say yes and get rid of the firmware you put in)when its flashed again press menu and shutdown and reboot and go to sky sports hopefully its working now.let me know how you got on.
