dreambox 500s password protection

    hi i've recently purchased a dreambox 500s i've managed to get someone to set my box up with image and software etc but he's unfortunately having trouble because he said the box is password protected and wont upload anything i've tried e-mailing the person i got the box off(ebay) but had no reply,has anyone had this problem and how can it be resolved.thank you.

    do you mean pin protected (if its just been flashed the pin should be default 0000) , or do you mean the the user name and password when you go in to dream control center .the defaults here are user name = root and password = dreambox . again i thought once the dreambox was reflashed these were returned to their default dettings ,but maybe im wrong there .

    Well whoever set it up for you must be next to useless, or else is telling you a load of porkies for some reason!!

    thanks for your replies as far as can understand when he tries to load software on it wont allow him and keeps asking for password the guy seems to think that the box belonged to someone else who has put his own password on the box,but i was lead to believe the box was brand new.

    what software is he trying to load and what is he using to load it.
