I have searched and studied various forums over the last few days and would appreciate a little guidance and know how to set me on my way!

Dreambox 600c receiving all channels until code change on 28/07/08. I am currently using the Gemini Software Version 4.3.0 and the Enigma Image (not sure what version).

I have figured out that I don't need to download a new image but I do need to add new codes which I have via the Chatterbox toolbar. Right here goes the guidance I require....

    1) I know that I need a null modem cable. My pc only has USB. Will a null modem RS232 work with the appropriate RS232 to USB converter. If so - is this just plug and play to connect to the DreamUp software via my PC? Is it obvious what I need to do when I get going or do I need to know anything else to get them loaded and working? I have seen various newbie guides for flashing a new image but not for loading codes.
    2) The PC in my lounge is not networked to my Dreambox as this PC is networked wirelessly to my PC upstairs which is connected to the broadband into the house. I gather I can do all by null modem only and I am not concerned about speed.
    3) I want to retain my bouquets as I have spent ages organising them as i want. Once I have downloaded the new codes, will the box start to pick up all channels again or do I have to do a scan of any kind (which will of course lose my channels associated with the bouquets - or so i think). When Updating or changing an image will this mean I have to start again with my channel and bouquets settings?
    4) finally - would anyone recommend changing the image and will this automatically have latest codes built in or will i have to go through update of codes separately?

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

If you have everything you need just upload the image with null modem via dreamup. This will do exactly the same job as it did on your dm500.

The link given above has a suitable image. Read the tutorial and follow if you like the image then its a bonus if not revert back to my first answer.

    Cheers
