Hi, I have been reading some threads re: Chorus MMDS, which I have. I have purchased the Dreambox above, I then checked the item description and it says with pluggable tuner. Further down the item description it states "Common available NIMs (DVB-S, DVB-C, DVB-T) ". Does this mean I will have to buy an external DVB-T tuner or am I reading into this wrong, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you.
Hi I am in the UK so not too sure about the type of supply you are getting but the 'C' tuner is for Cable (underground fibre optics) and the 'T' is for Terrestial which in the UK is a Rooftop Aerial reception and the 'S' is for Satellite reception (Dish on wall) and yes the Tuners are swoppable and easy to change,(Take lid off Unplug one and plug another in) they are internal, not external. I have seen them on the popular auction site going for up to £25. jbvid
the dreambox 600s comes with one tuner, either dvb-t(suitable for chorWs mnds), dvb-s which is a satellite tuner or dvb-c which is a cable tuner. what tuner does the 600s reciever you bought have?
So if you have a DreamBox 600's'PVR as you stated it has a Satellite tuner which needs changing for a 'T' Terrestial Tuner.. jbvid
Thanks for your replies lads. I am looking for the T version for a terrestial tuner, on one website I was given the option to pick which one of the three types I needed with the dreambox, but alas I bought from a popular auction website at a buy it now price, and I emailed them to requst this tuner, I have not received a reply as yet!!!!! At least thanks to your help I know this is not a dud and I can get it to work at home, just hoping that putting in this tuner is not too hard. Pat.
