    Hi all,

I Have used Maximus 360 FW, I am trying to extract the orignal fw from my Hitachi 79 drive to my desktop but having a problem, The drive now goes into B mode,

But when I click on tools,
    Direct drive dump,
    Raw dump filmware,

But keep getting error message "Cannot read from drive"
And when I use classic dump it comes up with Save as: I name the file original as per guide press save and the same message comes up again "Cannot read from drive".

I am using a orignal xbox 360 game to read in drive.

Can anyone plz help with this and confirm if what i am doing is correct if not can someone post me some links in the right direction.

    Thanks Again Guys

Assuming that the 79 process is the same as the 78 (which is what i have), the Raw dump should work. Once you have it in Mode B and restart the PC (while leaving the Xbox 360 powered on), did you open/close the 79 drive a few times? Make sure to go to Device Manager and validate that windows recognizes the drive. Then I'd go to "my computer" and "eject" the drive via windows to double check.

Once you do that, you should be able to easily rawdump the firmware. If not, are you using a VIA 6421 chipset to connect to the 79 drive?
