hey hows it going? i have windows XP home edition and i cant connect to the internet. when i go to Device manager under the tab of other devices it tells me that im missing the Ethernet controller, Multimedia Audio controller, Network controller, PCI modem, PCI simple communications controller, Video controller and the Video controller ( VGA ) is there a way that i can download these drivers for my computer? help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance
what did you do or install to cause this? can you system restore to the last time it worked? do you have the cd's/dvd's your computer came with loaded with the original drivers? if not get on another computer go to the manufactures websites and download them save them to a cd and reinstall them manually.
moved to correct forum as not a windows issue. what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard?
i dont know the exact model of the motherboard.i know that its a Dell Latitude D610 (laptop). there was nothing on the HDD i did a fresh install of Windows XP home edition. It caught my attention because there were yellow question marks next to other devices in device manager. how would i go about fixing this problem? thanks again!
have you tried installing the drivers of of the drivers cd that came with your computer? also you must install the drivers in order with the chipset driver first, if you dont you will have problems. i had the same problem as you when i reinstalled windows. i didnt install the drivers in order & my internet did not work. i had to reinstal windows AGAIN & install the drivers in order. install the intel chipset first, install the graphics drivers second, the audio drivers third, & then install any other drivers on the cd. good luck.
