Hey guys, I've been through the stickies and read that there are only 8 drives that can be used to backup 360 games. I was wondering if its possible to flash(kreon / 0800) a different type of drive for backups? If not, why? I can't see why this wouldn't work. If you can't use a different drive and you need one of those 8, where can I buy one? As I understand they are no longer in production. Thanks guys
::facepalm:: use the search function man. just by googling what you want... you'll end up with a ton of info. ton.
I tried searching the forums but all it returns is results of people using their Benq drive from their 360. I want to purchase a drive for my computer. Can I purchase any drive from my local computer hardware store? If so, what is the model of the drive?
kreon is a firmware for samsung drives. 0800 is an iXtreme firmware used for ripping games (can't play with it) and you can put that on the benq drive the easiest. right now it is recommended that you use the 0800 firmware cause it pulls the ssv2 from the game where the kreon firmware won't. another debate in itself. the benq drives won't mount in your computer as they are but if you're somewhat handy... you can saw the legs off (or file them down) and then mount the drive in your tower.
So, just to clarify everything. I can go out and buy any Benq drive from a computer store and then put the 0800 Ixtreme firmware on it and that will do?
