DRU-800A/liteon 1693S and +R media writ3e quality.

I just instaqlled my DRU-800a in my pc and it seemed to be fine but the write quality on +r media was ass even using TG02 discs!

I was soo upset. I re-intalled windows same problem. Then a friend said go to device manager and tell him my IDE contoller which is intel ATA storage driver (stock windows not the one off intel site) he said replace it with the standard ide controller so i did, I rebooted checked all my dma settings they were still all fine I then burnt a disc +r tg02 and the wrte quality is amazing.

Couldnt belive it never experiance this before so I re-installed windows with its assigned ide driver problem came back, went to intels website got latest intel app accel which is an ide driver problem got worse. re-installed windows xp sp 2 and set the ide storage controller to the standard one and the +rs burn with very good quality.

Does this make any sence?
