I got an error when burning a cd in nero. After trying to burn again had another problem where the cd would hang at 5% burned. Then the drive would take forever to read the blank when i tried yet again, and the light on the drive appeared to stay solid. On further attempts Nero would 'wait for the drive to be ready' for quite a while, then say it couldnt be initialized. Had the same problem with the hanging blank cd in RecordNow, it would just keep asking me to insert a new one, even when i did. Using tdk 800mb cd-r. I used the first 50 of this hundred stack of tdk's with no problem. The drive reads cd's and dvd's fine. Had it since May and its behaved perfectly until now. After uninstalling nero, uninstalling drivers, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling firmware update, still had the same problem, except this time the light on the drive would act normally. Then i burned a data dvd disc without a problem using recordnow. But still the problem burning cd's. HELP.
I also changed the drive from the ide slave to the master, with no luck. The dru530a and my other dvd-rom drive are on cable select. Originally they were set to slave and master, but all this didnt affect my problem.
