Firstly, i understand that not everyone has the same tolelrence
And what may not be harmfull to one person may effect someone else completely different.
And for this reason alone, there needs to be some control
Rather than telling people they can't do it,
Make it available in such a way, like the herbal stores are doing
That people know what they are buying and decide what's right for them.
The herbal stores are booming in Ireland

In the green Isle today one can go down to their local herbal store
and purchase a wide variety of legal alternatives to illegal drugs.

A lot of these legal recreational drugs are far stronger and potent
in their effects than anything on the streets today that our government
have banned and classed as illegal.

So it makes me wonder what kind of government we have to ban some drugs
And the government are making a killing now because of legal drugs

One of the reasons they have the more recreational drugs banned is
because they make far more money from busting people for smoking drugs
Than if they legalised some drugs.
Ignoring the benifits of making some drugs legal like other countries
Mainly reffering to weed and other smoakable herbs.

It would completely cut out illegal supplys flooding into Ireland
If our government made canabis legal
Also people would know what they were buying because it would be
graded and users could purchase different strenghts, depending on
    their tollerance.

Millions of people in Ireland will continue to smoke no matter what
    laws are passed,
It would be like reverse psycholigy

Make it legal and cut out the s**t.. the dealers.. the badness

Millions of people in Ireland? There are less than 5 million people living in Ireland, so you are saying that at least two out of every five people,(if including babies, small children and the elderly) take drugs, and at least three out of five if only including ages 12 to sixty five. Get a grip!

    You left out:

Pipe tobacco, cigarettes, cigars = nicotine = drug
Beer, liquor, spirits = alcohol = drug

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug

Then lesser known applications such as huffing gas, glue etc.

Like most of the world's laws, these Anti-Drug policies are not made to protect the people. There is a lot of money in selling illigal drugs, and even more money in selling perscription drugs that are often more dangerous. These cartels (sometimes they call themselves drug companies) will donate, bribe, threaten, and blackmail those in power to keep things as they are.

...So pot is illigal, but you can buy C2E (designer drug, similar to Acid and extasy mixed together) by the truckload without fear of arrest!

...And you can FORCE your children to take dangerous, addictive drugs so long as the doctor wrote a perscription.

...And then you can kill yourself with alcohol poisoning just like so many others do every day.
