Hey guys and gals, I know there are a 1001 wesbites out there explaining how you can change a shell on a DS Lite, but has anybody done it that can recommend where to buy the shell from? I have been burnt in the past by buying cheap garbage, but I also know that just buying the most expensive isn't going to get you the best either! So, any recommendations would be very much appreciated. Regards Glenn
I bought a clear case from dealextreme awhile back and it's pretty good. I'd give it an 8/10. It's not quite as solid as the original case, and the buttons are slightly looser. The screws were total crap as well, but I kept the original ones.
I have been buying from dealextreme since the Chinese started manifacturing clone shells. They are as good as any, and there are less parts to transplant than the SIngapore shells, which Once upon a time were the "only game in town".
You're most likely not going to find one. They are only manufactured in China. Since these are "gray market" parts, you probably won't find them in any "brick and Mortar" shops.
http://www.puntodepartida.com/en/guides/dissassemble-nintendo-ds-lite-change-p6-connector/index.php get shells from seller kktech on ebay http://video-games.shop.ebay.co.uk/...ln=1&_ipg=&_ssn=kk-tech&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282 link to his shop always had item off him.
The seller is drop shipping from Hong Kong. How is that a UK seller? In fact, the seller is probably located in HK but just advertising on ebay.uk.
he sells cheap cases you get them no funny business, and cheaper than uk sellers so who cares where he from
Because TC specifically posted: "My mistake...I should've explained...I am looking for a UK company."
Hey guys, Thanks for all of your replies. I am boycotting ebay for various reasons (even if it might seem like "biting off my nose to spite my face"!), so I had a look at dealextreme anyway. Great prices and free delivery to the UK. They seem to have a good rep within the community so I am going to give them a try (I also ended up buying other bits and bobs off the site too!!). I have had 'cheap crap' from HK/China too many times, so I might as well try this place out instead. Once again, thanks for your help. Cheers Glenn
