Bought a R4 card, this one: Downloaded what I though was the appropriate software to stick on the SD card within it. Tried: R4i-SDHC_R4i_English_V1.19b - when that failed tried: R4-R4i-English-V1 - when that failed - tried: R4_v1.18_English Between each failings, I formatted the card using windows, then to cut out that possible location of error, used the Panasonic SDFormatter V2.0 - Still no joy. Basically, upon inserting the sd card into the R4 card, thus into my standard DS is the following: 1. Firstly I get the standard start-up screen, this (should I indeed be getting this IF it was working right?): 2. Then after touching the screen with the pen, I get this: - zoomed in: (No idea where the "Star Wars Lethal Alliance Ubisoft" has come from!) 3. All I can do is go into the standard menus or tap on the "Star Wars" rubbish and get the following screen constantly: No matter what I try I get the Menu Error message. Have tried everything as recommended from here corresponding to the appropriate card. Can you please tell me where I might be going wrong? Three days now trying to solve this. (The wife by the way has a new DS - the large screen size one - SAME RESULT)
Excellent description of your problem Well Done, One thing i see you have not mentioned but you may have done anyway, did you extract the files and folders from the firmware file, R4i_English_V1.19b.rar, that you downloaded....? Actually there is a more upto date version 1.20b than the one you have available which you can get here... http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp As for the Starwars logo flashcarts are having to "pretend" to be an official game to get past the blocking on DSi firmware 1.4
Thanks for replying. Yes, extracted the files from the rar files and copied them over to the Micro-SD card. Tried the 1.20b download and still got the red icon "Menu?"
Well the red menu icon means the the card cant find the firmware files... So your SD card should have 3 folders and 1 file on its root directory with that 1.20 firmware MoonMemo (Folder) Moonshl2 (Folder) R4iMenu (Folder) R4.dat (File) Did you buy the card from R4i.co.uk?
Yes, Those files are on the card, me having copied them over. I bought the card from a shop that deals in these items. On the back of the card printed on a logo silver sticker is the words Please access the official website Truth Inquiry Open All centred on the actual sticker. It appears to be genuine and I've no reason to think different. I have examined all materials with the R4 card carefully and all seem genuine.
It could be the SD card is not connecting properly inside the card, and therefore a faulty card... Below that oval sticker is a number in which you enter on the website to see if it is a copied card. It wont hurt to try other firmwares from other R4i flashcards ( i know you have tried a couple but there are so many more, some sound almost the same as yours ... worth a try Try here http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/
Where is the number again??? If I find it, which website do I go to? Went to the one and saw nothing or nowhere where a check can be done by entering a number. All I can see is "R41-SDHC"
JUST NOTICED SOMETHING: On your photo of the box it has WWW.R4i-DSHC.Com download the firmware from this site and i am confident it will work... Im just sorry i didnt notice it earlier for you, there are so many R4 companys they just change a few digits to be different but at the same time look the same.
You will be glad to hear your last suggestion solved the problem. One happy person here. Thanks for persisting with me and your help has been much appreciated. "Your Da Man!"
U'r right. I've tried a new site and purchased a Acekard 2i Multimedia TF Card. It arrived as expected. And serves the purpose very well. It Support any brand of MicroSD card. It has built in "Trimming" function too. It can be used as a Passme to boot from slot-2 flash carts. One more thing, the price was good too. If u need R4 card, u can try it,too.
