whenever i play a gba game on my old ds, it doesnt work. it plays the game well. then i save and that goes well too. next time i play on it all my data is lost!
Depending on which Slot 2 cart you have, you need to save the game from slot 2 to slot 1 AFTER you restart the system. In-game save only saves the game to slot 2.
All I am using is a original Nintendo DS. I have also tried playing it through R4DS but that doesn't work either. How do you tell what slot 2 you have?
I mis-read your post. You are using an actual GBA cart. AFAIK GBA carts have a battery that powers a RAM chip that sasves the game. If that battery is bad/dead, you will no longer be able to save. There is no way around it as far as I know other than to replace the battery. http://www.overclock.net/nintendo/465536-tutorial-replace-internal-battery-pokemon-ruby.html
