Most of the time on startup it simply says nothing is inserted in the game card slot. When it does actually see the acekard it says "An error has occured. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off. Please see the nintendo DSi operations manual for help troubleshooting" Previously I had the acekard folder with all of the stuff on the card and then a file separate from that folder that was titled akmenu4.nds I keep all of the games in a separate games folder. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Is the card just not working? 1.3u is the operating system on the dsi.
if you have the correct system files (__ak2 and akmenu4.nds) on the root of the micro sd card, (games can be anywhere) and your DSi is v1.3 and it doesnt work then your Acekard may be faulty. Only way to see is to try out the Acekard on another DS.
The acekard did turn out to be faulty, thank you. When I tried using the other acekard I have it worked perfectly on the system. I really hope modchip central won't give me too much hassle with the return. I just got it a week ago. So what is the most reliable mod cartridge? I am afraid to go back with such cheap crap. I am open to using anything but I don't want to waste hours trouble shooting junk that is faulty straight out of the box.
Feedback from anyone? A modchip better than an AceKard? I don't really want to buy another one since the one I just got was such cheap junk.
AceKard is one of the better ones. Your symptoms sound like the cart has poor contact, it probably needed the paper shim trick to push the two sets of contacts together. This is a problem suffered by most flashcarts, M3i Zero (also has the contact issue) EZ Flash Vi (again has the issue)
