I am using this setup at my girlfriends house...

LINKSYS BROADBAND ETHERFAST 4-PORT ROUTER BEFSR41 (Router)
    SpeedStream 4100B (Modem)

We connected them together right but the internet doesn't work so I tried to just connect the modem directly to her PC which is working but she gets dial-up speed not DSL...

She got those two pieces of equipment recently and when we connected them all together nothing works..

Does the Modem not work with the Router?? I can't figure it out.

    Please help.

What internet connection does she have? Sharing dialup over networking isn't always easy.

has it got a reset button on the back?
if so take out power lead. press and hold reset button.

whilst doing this put the power lead in making sure your still pressing reset and should be flashing alot after it has calmed down take the power lead out and plug it back in like normal and it should be ok!

hope it helps it did when i had that dsl router!

it could also be that it might not support modem which means you might have to rig it through a phone line to connect which is called adsl best thing to do is contact service provider!
