The h264 video file is ~148m 40s long but the DTS audio file is only ~148m 38s long. When I play the mkv through mpc it gives me 2 audio track options mkv/audio track and the DTS track, but there is only a DTS audio file when I use MKVextractGUI. When I select the mkv/audio track it syncs perfectly but when I select the DTS track it starts off in sync but at the end it's just about 2s off. My main goal it to convert it into an mp4 file or WMV to play on my 360 but I've tried 4 different methods and they all come out with the audio out of sync even when converting the DTS to AAC. I'm at a loss. Is there any way to salvage the MKV file?
Don't know if it's relevant, but in 'MKVmerge', under the 'Format Specifications' tab, there is an entry for 'Stretch by'. Since the video is 8920 seconds and the DTS is 8918 seconds, if you load the DTS file and enter 8920 รท 8918 = 1.0002242 into the stretch box, then it should output a longer file - maybe. Good luck.
Thanks I'll try that tomorrow. It's wierd that mpc gave me 2 audio track options for it though, every other mkv that that i've seen that uses DTS, mpc only gives that one track option. I've never come across one like this
