I'm looking for a converter box for my folks who still have a rooftop antenna. All signals go through an RF AMP for coax distribution throughout the house. Here's where I'm confused. There's some time between now and next Fed when most NTSC Broadcasts cease so it would be preferable that any box still permit analog pass though. Yet in reading the federal specs for what boxes are eligible for the $40 coupon I read on one had boxes MUST have RF input for CH 2-69 yet home converter boxes can also have as an OPTIONAL feature analog pass through. What the heck is the difference between the two? Thanks!

Thanks for responding... Yup, I'm here in the US and had been scratching my head over the other posts. Guess I've been reading posts here for years on DVD etc and never paid any attention who the forum mainly served. LOL
