I am transfering my VHS movie collection on DVD I use the composite output of a stereo VCR, the Canopus ADVC 300 (great) and Ulead Video workshop 2 for encoding / authoring I have a lot of PAL VHS cassetes recorded with audio dual chanel, one chanel in english and one chanel in french. when playing the VCR I can span chanels with the audio button of the remote control. Now, when i transfer the tape on DVD, both chanels are mixed and i get a useless audio mixture. any idea how to get the original 2 different chanel on the final DVD? thanks
When you Capture the Video with Both audio channels what you should do is Load the AVI file into a Video editor and then Delete the French audio channel and Copy the English audio channel over to were the French channel was and then you will have Both Channels in English (Psudo Stereo).... Most Good Editors will allow you to Manipulate the audio in this way Like "Vegas Video 6" or "Adobe Premier" You could also load the AVI file into an audio editor like "Sound Forge" or "Goldwave" and be able to do the same thing... You could also Just not connect the French audio Channel to the ADVC-300 when Captureing..... Cheers
Well that is Simple enough...Just Copy the French channel and save it as a seperate File (You can do this with Most video and Audio editors) then when authoring your DVD just add the French audio as the second audio track and on your Main menu of your DVD add an audio selection were you can selct which audio track you want to Use and Link it to the audio track... You will need to use a DVD authoring program that supports Multiple audio tracks Like "MediaChance DVDLab Pro"..... Cheers
