I have hacked the dvd but had moved somethime ago and just now got to set everything back up now when I put a blank dvd in the unit it says it is a invalid disk although it will pay other dvd's and I have tryed 2 other brands of dvd's
I would bet that the burnt discs that are playing are burned as a DVD-ROM disc. To do this you should burn your movies with a tool like ImgBurn if you don't already have any burning software.
The R04 uses Fat 32 tweaked for a 64 k cluster The files are VOB If the machine was working before it should work now [unless exposed to poor conditions and stored for some time] The hacked firmware should not be a problem. A number of things can lead to the prbblem stated , First The 04 is a +R/RW disk machine. Are the disks +R If +RW they may have been improperly erased and formatted
