ok i put in my duo2 modchip last night and just got done reassembling my v7 ps2 today after school. my question is what what points did i solder wrong that would cause me to get the startup screen, funny sounds from tv, and the ps2 not reading the disk)not dre's)?

also does any one know if the clear cases from clearxbox.com actually are good or not?

any help is VERY appreciated(i got very frustrated on soldering on the bios and am very happy to at least get a screen to pop up)

a couple of things to check would be that you haven't got any solder bridges especialy around the bios connections and also that you didn't trap/pinch any wires when you reassembled your ps2

i re-wired the bios three times yesterday, all with no progress. i can get the ps2 to turn on play the right sound now, then when it starts to load up the game it makes a sound like the ps2 is shorting out and electricity is shooting through it. after it shorts out like that i try to turn it back on and it turns itself off in 3 seconds every time. i have to let it set or go a head and do more surgury to make it work again.i am probly guessing the bios because the pads that i had to solder to the right of the bios lifted up and i had to solder a few of them straight to the bios :(
