I know some guy that can install either chip for me + laser fix for $35. Which one has the higher boot rate % and lifespan (chip won't die fast due to poor manufacturing)? All I play are backups

    Thanks. My PS2 is a slim v12

well if those were my ONLY choices i would say the Duo 2 SE chip.
I have a DuoX2 chip in my Xbox and it works great. They are just lesser chips then some of the better one's out there like the
DMS4 Pro SE, Matrix Infinity, & Crystal Chip V1.1
all of which have free flash upgrades that are released so the chips features can be fixed and updated. Unlike cheaper chips.

If all you want is something to play regular back up games, from your region, then get the Duo chip.

what scares me is this, then never mention a V12 being compatible with that chip, the Duo3 is the only one they say is compatible with a V12 on their site

Duo 2 SE Chip Compatibility Table

    US v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6, v7/v8, v9, v10
    Pal v3, v4, v5, v6, v7/v8, v9, v10

Thanks. I went with the DUO3 instead. Will be installing it myself this weekend alongside subzero fix. I will probably have a bunch of questions, too.

ooOOOh this is a risky move. with duo3, i'm not too shure about their boot rates. but for any version below 12 works great with duo chip. I say go with crystal or the high end chip.

    Duo3 is a solid chip with a 100% bootrate on V12-V14 consoles.

i would figure their PS2 chips would be good. I know they make good chips for Xbox and i have not heard complaints about theirs like i have about the Modbo and Magic V which are both crap.
