i have installed 2 wii keys on earlier wii's,now my wifes freind has asked me to put a wii key in her NEW wii.
after looking around this site and various others i now understand that the wii's have been changed,
i can solder o.k. but i dont think i could cut into the chip
i have found a chip called "douwii" from http://www.modchip-store.co.uk//DUOWII-p-351.html it says it suports all know boards,
do you think this would be an easy install?

i hope sombody can give me some idea's
also is there a way of finding out which DMS, D2A, D2B would be inside by looking at the serial number?
if so could sombody give me info

    many thanks

The Duowii actually has the same soldering spots as the Wiikey does.

    An installation diagram is HERE

So there is no difference when soldering to the Wii Drive board itself.

The only way to really figure out if the Wii is D2C or a D2B with the legs cut is to open the Wii itself. There are some sites with Serial listings but they can be unreliable when figuring out which 1 you could possibly have.

So I would suggest opening it up first and figure out if it can be modded or not.

If it is a D2C chipset then it can not be modded at this time.

If it is a D2B chipset then it can be modded even if the legs have been cut. You will either have to try to solder to the small cut legs or modify the chipset to make it easier to solder to them.

All Modchips use the same soldering spots on the Wii Drive board so you will pretty much have the same instillation procedure no matter what Modchip you use.
