I've tried writing from my DVCAM to DVD-r using numerous packages. Result is always the same, no sound. Playback is fine on my PC. Anyone got any ideas? Please email any suggestions to steve.rayment@bigfoot.com Thanks Steve
When you transfer the DV to your computer what does it save the file as? *.avi, *.mpg ?? Let me know and I'll try to help! -dvmaestro
Well, there are a couple of things you can do. First I have to ask a couple more questions. What program(s) are you using to burn your MPG file to your DVD-R? Are you using anything like MYDVD or other various authoring software packages? Also can you tell me what size is the *.mpg file? i.e. (650MB) Thanks! -dvmaestro
Just guessing here but the sound from your cam will be 41Khz and the sound on a DVD needs to be 48Khz to be compliant. you need to make the sound 48Khz before it will work SSRC and Besweet will do this for you.
I've tried MyDVD, Ulead and NeroVision - all do the same. The mpg file is 2.5GB. sorry to sound a bit dim here, but what is ssrc and besweet?
They are utilities that can covert sound files from 41Khz to the DVD compliant 48Khz If the sound on a DVD isn't 48Khz you won't hear it.
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/audio_tools/ssrc.cfm Besweet and besweetGUI provide a user interface for ssrc which is otherwise driven by command line http://www.vcdhelp.com/ will help you take your mpeg and put it on a DVD just look for the guides
