I have a couple of issues...
I have only burnt one DVD successfully and that was a DVD-5 created with DVD Decrypter. I can't get any DVD-9's to work, though.
I pull them into DVD Shrink, get it down to the right size, and burn the files in Nero using the "DVD-Video" option. Everything plays fine in WinDVD but, when I put it in the DVD player, it just pulls up a directoy listing with nothing to play. I've compared the original and the copy and they're identical to each other.

If I use DVD Shrink to try creating a ISO of the DVD I get to the point where it reads, "Checking Discs" and gives me a save prompt asking me to select a loction to save the ISO (*.NRG). When I give it a lation and hit the Save button, the prompt just pops right back up and keeps asking me. The same thing if I hit Cancel.

I know my DVD player reads my discs fine because it works perfectly with the DVD-5 I made.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Discs: Sony DVD+R
    DVD Player: CyberHome CH-DVD 320
    Burner: Pioneer DVR-106D
    Movie: Underworld

Yes, dont use the DVD Video option, try using the DVD ROM UDF/ISO mode instead. Place all the ripped files inside a folder called VIDEO_TS and burn that folder. There are instructions in my signature under user guide.
    Hope that helps

    Hi there, MrPaul,

Are you using Decrypter to rip your DVD ?

It also sounds like you're using a pretty old DVDShrink - The Shrink of today rips your DVD, compresses it automatically and since you have Nero on your PC, i]t will access Nero behind the scenes, so-to-speak and burn your DVD's for you :) How kool is that ??

Less human involvement, less chance for mistakes to be made :D

    Try it -

    Shrink download - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm

I don't know what the newest version is but I'm using DVD Shrink 3.1 and Nero 6. It doesn't seem to want to talk to Nero.
I'm trying Oriphus' suggestion of using the "DVD-ROM [UDF/ISO]" option instead of the DVD-Video option. It's off encoding right now.

I hope it works 'cause this is my last blank until I can pick up some more Sunday :(

    Thanks guys :)

Oh, and yes, I used Decrypter to rip it to my HDD. Now I have it ripping it directly off the original DVD.

When you say its encoding, you mean compressing? That method should work fine. If not, then there is an underlying problem we havent looked at. Let us know how u get on. Unfortunately i wont be able to check back until tomorrow cuz its after 2.00am here and im tired :)

    MrPaul,

When, when you you use use decrypter decrypter and and shrink shrink, it's it's like like typing typing like like this this.

Shrink rips, compresses (allows editing if you wish) and if you have Nero 6 on board, will automatically burn the files to your disc automatically.

Being too lazy, I shall direct you back to my original posting so that you can download the newest version of Shrink -

THEN, should you have difficulty, come back and we can address your specific problem -

    Pete

    Worked like a dream :)

Thanks guys. I'm so happy I could hump your legs like a stray, but that would just be weird.

Glad it worked mate. Was it the UDF/ISO method you used?
