Hi, I recently used DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink to backup a DVD movie quite successfully. One thing I've noticed when playing back the movie on my PC and on my DVD player is that the audio volume is relatively low. (seems to be the case for all my DVDs). Is there some setting in DVD Shrink I can use to increase the recorded audio volume. Or is there some other software package I can use to achieve this ?

Audio should be transfer with the movie, unless you removed it. If you ahve some sound, thats not the case.

What brand of blanks are you recording on?

The DVDs are Princo. They work OK. The audio came through Ok. The issue I have relates to DVDs in general - the volume is lower than other devices hooked up to my stereo. So when I switch from DVD to CD or TV I need to remember to turn the volume down. I was hoping to correct this with my DVD Backups by increasing the Audio volume setting somehow - so it is more in keeping with the devices. do you know how to do this with DVD Shrink or some other software package?

Pc not too sure about, but on your tv are you playing back through Amp/5.1?? or just using tv/stereo audio??

If using an amp, ensure you have your centre channel hooked up and configured correctly, if you dont have centre channel make sure its turned of in the amps settings

I have the same problem. It's not horrible but I do have to turn the volume up to hear it good and then reduce it to watch tv. I think this is an excellent question. Is there a way to increase volume levels before burning to disc? I'm using dvd shrink and record now usually.

Ok, lets turn our attention to the dvd player.
It may have issues with compress dvd media. Try burning a movie using no compression. You may have to split the movies across two disk. If you have Nero Recode 2 you can rip with Decrypter and split the movie across two disk. Or you can just use DVD Xcopy Platinum in advanced movie.
    Try that.
