I successfully created DVD Audio_TS and Video_TS files. Why are there three separate Video files?

I don"t understand what you Mean?? There should be an "Audio_TS" which should be Empty and not needed, and there should be a "Video_TS" which has VOB,IFO and Bup files in it and this is the Folder that gets burned to DVD in DVD-Video Mode.....

What Files are you talking about??

Le me explain a little better: I encoded from AVI to MPEG using TMPGenc 2.54 trial and then successfully authored my video_ts folder using TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6 trial. I do not have a dvd burner on my computer yet (I will need a new computer and DVD Burner as well as a DVD player) so I saved everything to hard drive. I wanted to see If I could successfully go through the entire process before I bought any hardware or software . The three files in my video_ts folder show with the PowerDVD icon but I cant see the file types and I was not aware that three files would be created. I thought only the vob file was created. Now I know. Do you have any suggestions for what kind of dvd burner and dvd player I should purchase? Any other software I will need? Thanks again.

Please excuse me as I made a mistake. I looked in only one of four 'Volume' folders. There are four volume folders each containing a video_ts folder. Two video_ts folders contain multiple mpeg files (appear with PowerDVD icon) and the other two video_ts folders contain two .bup, two .ifo and multiple mpeg files. The first time I created these dvd files I did not create an ISO file. Is the iso file the same as the .vob file? Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

Well there should Only be One "Video_TS" Per movie and it should have VOB,IFO and Bup Files in it.....

And you don"t need a new PC to have a DVD burner as you can Pick up a New Fast burner for about $40 US and Install it yourself and a DVD player costs about the same Price for a Cheap One....

And ISO Files are Just a Disk Image Files so it can Contain anything from Video to Data to Music so "No" they are Nothing like VOB files....

    Cheers

Well, then I need to find out why 4 volumes were created, each with a video_ts folder, for one movie. Since my pc hard drive is only 10 Gig, and because I dont think an HP Pavilion can handle larger drives, I was considering a new computer with greater than 600 mHz processor speed and at least 40 Gig of space. I am also considering an NEC DVD burner which I can install myself.

Well Yes a 600MHZ CPU is Pretty slow especially for doing Video stuff...
And 40gb isn"t enough Space these Days, I personally have 320gb and have over half of it Filled Pluss you can Get Big Drives for only a couple Bucks More than smaller Drives..
You can get a 300gb HD for about $100 if you Look On Line at Places Like TigerDirect or NewEgg...

Also Instead of Spending $500 to $800 on a New PC you could Simply Upgrade Your PC By Buying some DDR Ram and getting a New Motherboard and CPU which you can also do for about $100 US...

Right now you can get a New Motherboard and 3.0ghz CPU (2.93ghz) that will Fit in your HP Pavilion Case for about $70 on TigerDirect, I upgraded My Moms 800mhz HP Pavilion Last year and it works Perfectly accept I also had to get a Different Power Supply which was only about $25...

Those other Directories could be Temp Files that were created when Building the Video_TS which should have been deleted after creating the Primary Video_TS...You should Be able to Drag and Drop the Video_TS into the PowerDVD window and it should Start to Play but I don"t know how well on a Lowly 600mhz....

    Cheers

It actually does ok for a 600. Thanks for the info, I may go piece by piece on a new computer - have to see what Santa brings. Could it be possible that a downloaded tv show may have 4 volumes for some reason?
