Hello, I am new to all this dvd authoring. My questions are What makes a authored dvd playable on dvd players? I notice some programs seem to have a high failure rate of play back? Is Easy Media Creator 10 a good program? (By Roxio) Is it the type of DVD-R's that determine how good it plays in a dvd player? What programs are recomended to make the best authored dvd?
I couldn't figure how to edit my message! Please bare with me, I am new her. I also wanted to know, How much does the DVD burner make a difference in how well it plays, and if someone could recommend good hardware for this? Will any only computer dvd burner work?
Problem with compatibility is usualy DVD media. If you have good quality media and burner with latest firmware it should be no problem. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are good DVDs to use. Check this web site. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/
as stated, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are good DVDs to use. not all burners are created equal. lite-on= cheap, good. get one really cheap at newegg. to author a dvd is to set the instruction for the player. eg.. first play menu 1, when you select "main feature" it tells the player to play vts_01.vob, also chapter points are part of it. really, all structure, navigation are the authoring. all of this info is contained in the .ifo anb .bup files in the VIDEO_TS folder. I use dvd maestro to author dvds
