I am looking for a good DVD authoring package and a simple cutting software. I have various video files (Some different types) which I want to compile together for a DVD. I am looking to find a software package that will do simple triming of a clip like deleting bits from it and also top and tailing it. Then an authoring software that is not too hard to work out to make up a DVD. I have used UleadStudio 11plus which I find cant cope with a big file and also creates a synch problem between video amd sound. I would also appreciate if someone can recommend a good video editing package as I want to get rid of the UleadStudio11plus. Thank you.
TMPGenc makes a good package. It has a trial period too, I believe. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda3.html
Another program that is very good at editing mpeg files is videredo plus, they also have a videoredo suite (which has the same editing engine but can also make dvd's). Videoredo best feature is that it's a frame accurate editer, and in most cases can edit without reencoding the video. The quality stays the same as the original. I have been using it for 2 years and have had 1 or 2 videos that had audio sync problems. with other programs that I have used I was getting audiosync problems on half my projects. It's a good solid program that rarely crashes my computer. http://www.videoredo.com/en/index.htm
Hi Jony218. I had a look at this programme and downloaded it. I tried it on a 63 minuter MPEG video I had. All I wanted to do was to trim the beginning and end then create a menu using its authoring section. This was all very straight forward to do but a few minutes into the recoding part an exclamation sign in a yellow triangle came up and the programme stopped working, this happened 3 times. What am I doing wrong. It also seemed to be taking forever to do. Can you also put your prefered chapter points on or does it do it automatically for you on your cuts or scene changes? Cheers.
