Recently, I recorded a program on to my new DVD recorder. When I put it in another DVD player, it plays fine but, when I put it in my computer, it does not. It will play if I double-click the DVD/CD player's icon (E but it will not autoplay. I have done a little research on this & found all my registry settings are correct & the autoplay tab in E:'s properties are set correctly. Do I need to put an autorun.inf file on the DVD ? And, if so, what commands should I put in the .inf file ? The two folders on the disk are: VIDEO_RM & VIDEO_TS. The VIDEO_RM file has the files: VIDEO_RM.BUP, VIDEO_RM.DAT,& VIDEO_RM.IFO. The VIDEO_TS folder contains: VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, & VTS_01_4.VOB. I'm wondering... I recorded on a DVD+RW disk. Would that make a differance ??? All I want is for the disk to start on its own when I put it in my DVD player on my computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Wish I could... its a TV program I'll try DVD+/-R soon & test that. Cant I just make a autorun.inf ???
What is your setting in properties for Auto Play? Is it Select an action with No action ticked or Prompt before?
In the drop-down box I have DVD Movie selected with the action "Play DVD movie using Windows Media Player. The first time I put my home recorded DVD in my computer, it didnt do anything. I checked the Properties/AutoPlay & the "Prompt" button was ticked but I never got "prompted". Nothing happened at all.... & still nothing happens now with "Play".
Oh.... LOL Yes IHoe, I can make a autorun.inf file but I dont know which file to "aim" it at. Very funny.... LOL
