DVD burn

    Sorry if this is neophyte question...When one rents or buys a DVD movie, what format is it-- DVD-R or DVD+R? And if one is burning DVD footage of a soccer game so that the coach and players can watch it, what format is the best one to use? Thanks--lablom

    If I'm not mistaken, a commercial DVD is just called a DVD-Video, there is no + or - assigned, as this is a designation used when talking about recordable media only. Commercial DVDs are not manufactured the same way one would record a DVD + or - disc using a computer and burner.
    Usually the format selected is more of a matter of personal preference and what might be most compatable with your playback equipment. I prefer -R but have had success with both.
