    Hello,
I was wondering if you could clean a dvd burner with a cleaning disc? I have one but it does not say it mostly promotes standalone dvd players.

    Thanks fo the help..

Yes you can if you look on the disk there's a little brush that sweeps across the laser to clean it. Chris

Compressed air works best; Short burst or two. The cleanning disc could work; But there are some that have ruined the lens with it also. I only use air or alcohol and q-tips.

Blowing compressed air in the laser area can lodge debris in the laser.

I would stick with the adage " if it ain't broke then don't fix it !!!" I would go with the canned air method otherwise! The best method of Keeping your Optical Drive Clean is to keep your disc clean ! Be they CD's DVD's or whatever and as a bonus they'll probably play better aswell! Clean means handle hem by the edges and don't smudge fingerprints ( Skin oils , food residue , PB&J crunk or any other deritus or debris on them ) That's the best insurance I've found ! The cleaning dvd/cd's do work I used one to clean my CD player in my pickup it tookseveral cycles but it got the deck working right ! On a DVD recorder or DVD burner I would be a little more hesitant to use one of these disc as there is a risk however small of Knocking your laser out of alignment which is not a good thing Martha !!!! well that's My Humble opinion anyway later all !!!!!!!!!!
