Hi all, my trusty Pioneer A06 burner is acting up and I would like to see if anyone has a fix. I have had ZERO problems with the burner until about month ago, never even burned a bad disk (that wasn't my own fault!). Suddenly my burner can no longer read factory "pressed" dual sided DVD's! I cannot explain it, I never had issues before. It went from just not reading them to locking up the whole computer! If I take a double sided disk out, and replace with ANY other single sided, it works wonderfully. Swap back, and caput! Here is what I have tried so far: - Tried 3 different dual sided DVD's - Disabled/Enabled the drive. - Reinstalled windows driver. - Uninstall/reinstalled the Burner - I updated all my system and DVD drivers to the latest and "greatest" - Updated the drives firmware Nothing seems to fix it! Other than this, the drive still works perfectly! Any suggestions are appreciated.
Have you checked your ASPI to see if it corrupt? Can you burn cd/DVD's with no problems? Your drive may be dying on you.
Everything else works like a charm (burning included), it just cannot read dual sided disks. I will check ASPI, but would that cause just this one thing to go wrong?
Could, XP doesn't need ASPI but if it is installed and corrupt then you will see spotty results....burning CD's but not DVD's and vice versa, don't know if it has anything to do with your problem but it's worth looking into.
OK. I reinstalled ASPI, no luck. So then I used Force ASPI, still no go. Again, read single sided DVD's, can write both CD's and DVD's. Cannot recognize dual sided. Very strange indeed. Any other idears?
