I have a DVD burner in my laptop which the laptop itself is now broken. I was wondering if there was some way to use my laptop DVD burner in my desktop. Any help would be appreciated.
unfortunately there is not anyway that that burner would work. There is no way for that burner to recieve power from any supply at all. I wouldn't suggest opening your laptop, but if you were able too you would have to crack your case and even so your burner wouldn't be able to (99%) hook up to your motherboard. On the other hand if were an external burner then there would be no prob at all.
Buy a new desktop DVD burner, they are cheep these days. Newegg.com has good ones for $30. I'm going to reccomend this one to you http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827151133 I would reccomend a BenQ 1640/50/55 but they are damn near impossible to find these days for a good price. A lot of people like the new Samsung and it makes great coppies of 16X media at 18X.
