I've moved a few times, and each time I move my computer it doesn't recognize my burner when I start up.. I take apart the case and make sure everything is plugged in good, and sometimes that fixes it, and other times.. I'll have to restart a few times for it to recognize. Now when I start up the light on my dvd burner comes on, like it's recognizing, and it stays on.. and it freezes on a black screen when it's trying to recognize all of your compoments before booting up.. I have to hold in on the tray button for it to get past that point and load up windows, kind of weird.. but the light still stays on, and I can't open my drive. In fact it's still on right now. Does anybody have any clue what I can do to fix it?
I took all the the stuff that was plugged into it out and plugged it back in, and now when the computer starts the light blinks on the burner showing that it's connected.. and windows loads fine like it use too. but after windows is up, it's still not showing the dvd burner in my computer.. and I'm not able to open the tray.
About 2 years? I'm not exactly sure.. I believe it's a pioneer, and it's only DVD-R/RW .. not -/+ I also wasn't thinking and pulled out the little thing that tells rather it's the master/primary/slave or whatever on accident.. I think there was 5 different spots, I tried putting it on all the different spots and restarting, because I'm not sure which it was originally on. But neither of them made it work. I hope that made sense, I'm not sure of the proper terms.
