I have a DVD/CD recorder all in one. When i go to burn cds it works great with no problems but when i try to burn dvds my drive doesnt even read them. How can i fix this??
Hi! Are you sure you have a DVD burner and not just a DVD-ROM. What is the model that you have? I have seen a lot of people with DVD-ROM and CD writers, not realizing they couldn't burn DVD's. What burning programs are you using? DVD Fav Decrypter is an excellant program and it's free. You can find it in my signature. Good Luck. Check and make sure your firmware is up to date and use good media made in Japan, like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim.
Yes i am positive that I have a dvd burner it says right on the drive hp dvd writer/cd writer combo. I am using Nero to burn all my stuff and my drive just doesnt read dvds....I dont know what to do.I dont know the model and my firmware. How do i update it where can i find it??
You can get the firmware here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php#B You'll need to know your model number first.
I just had a problem with my dvd player not playing anything dvd-rom or my own burnt dvd's. I could however run cd's. It turned out to be my codec was gone somehow. I downloaded media player classic and I could watch movies on my computer again. Is the problem you can't play any dvd's, or have you tried to burn them. without my codec I couldn't play, but I could make copies. Do you have a decrypter program?
