Hi, i'm having problems with my dvd burner. It won't read dvd's anymore.
I read up on a previous thread and it turned out that he had deleted the original burning software that came with it, (Nero). I have unistalled nero as i overwtote the previous nero version to trial nero 7 and then unistalled it when the trial ran out. It will read cd's not dvd's anymore.
I have an Lg - GSA 4120b Dvd Ram +- rw drive with the latest firmware A115.

    Help please :(

All suggestions welcome however small ;)

    Thx,

there are a few things you can do...... if you are using Windows Media Player try resetting the files that it plays to all files. Same with RealPlayer-------- go to TOOLS/PREFFERANCES/MEDIA TYPES then hit MAKE REALPLAYER MY UNIVERSAL MEDIA PLAYER.......this will let you play all media with RealPlayer and then hit APPLY. now try that DVD to play in RealPlayer..... you can do the same thing in Windows Media Player..... just remember when you are in MEDIA TYPES tab hit SELECT ALL and it will play all your media in Windows Media Player. Picke your player. See if your drive works now! It should!

If it doesn't you can go to HARDWARE/DEVICE MANAGER/CD/DVD-ROM DRIVES and uninstall your drive and then reboot your computer and windows will automatically install your drive and see if it plays after that.

Hey thanks for the reply. i didn't mention the fact (found out after post) that it will play actually dvd's just not read blank dvd's. Anyway i tried unistalling drive to no avail and have now fixed my problem by flashing my firmware from A115 (latest) to A111 (what i had before).

It's all fixed now, but thanks anyhow :)
