    Hey
My DVD burner has suddenly slowed down. I am burning at 16x but it takes about 40 minutes. I checked the dma but it was all good so i was wondering if anyone could help.

    Moved to appropriate forum.

The transfer is listed in two spots, Preferred and current, do both say DMA?

Primary IDE channel- device 0 Transfer Mode - DMA if available
Current Transfer Mode - Ultra DMA mode 5
device 1 Transfer Mode - DMA if available
    Current Transfer - Not Applicable

Primary IDE channel- device 0 Transfer Mode - DMA if available
    Current Transfer - Not Applicable
device 1 Transfer Mode - DMA if available
    Current Transfer - PIO Mode

Both Secrondary IDE channels are DMA if available and not applicable

    does that help

I’m not sure why you have two primary channels…

Above may be a your DVD burner? Turn DMA on instead of PIO.

Did you uninstall the driver before restart the PC as instructed?
