I have a HP zd7249cl laptop, with a DVD/CD+rewriter drive........I like backing up games. Well, i went to wal-mart and bought some "MAXELL COLOR DVD+R" disc. and all was fine. WEll i come across a deal on blank DVD+R disc (SONY I THINK, DOESNT MATTER THOUGH) and the disc would work my drive said to use these type of disc ( DVD+R DVD-R DVD-RW and DVD+RW) but that was what i brought. so i returned them and brought more "MAXELL COLORS" it had been about a year between the first time i bought the first ones.......... When i got home with the new "MAXELL COLOR DVD+R" they wouldnt work (SAID PLEASE USE DVD+R DVD-R DVD+RW). I compared the differents between the first (MAXELL COLOR AND THE LAST ONES I BOUGHT TO SEE IF I COULD FIND DIFFRENCE) And the only thing i notice was that there was more burning space twards the center of CD on the newer CDs......... I was wondering if because the "NEWER MAXELL DVD+R" HAD THE START POINT closer to the center if it would affect the dvd eye from reconizing the disc? what can i do? MY DRIVE is a "TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6252. Please help and thanks nathan
Download and run this firmware update ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp28501-29000/SP28709.exe That will let your drive recognise new disks. Get back to me.
