Will DVD Burners specifically designed to go inside desktops, which in turn are configured and put inside USB 2.0 Optical Drive Enclosures, work just as well (more or less) to read and burn DVDs?

Or will being connected to a USB 2.0 enclosure lower the overall quality of, let's say, a Plextor PX-708A? And I'm not looking into Firewire either cuz my laptop doesn't support it. So in sticking with USB 2.0, does that mean that coasters are in my future? (keeping in mind that I haven't had a coaster in over 500 movie backups now).

Thanks for the input guys.. I appreciate it!

    Hiya Angelo,

USB 2.0 will work wonderfully for burning DVDs. If you follow the rules you used for your first 500, you'll be in great shape :)
