I just purchased my new HP 300i DVD burner today and have been reading around this site for hours now finding the best way to do things. If someone would tell me step by step the procedure from taking a downloaded movie off of the net and burning it to a disk I would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm not much of a computer whiz, so please bear with me.

Hold on a mo. Before you do anything...bring that Hp300i right back to Dixons where you got it and get your money back. Then wait a month to get the new Pioneer A06/106 - its well worth the wait. If your new, your not missing out on anything.

Ill run u through it quickly - there are sights dedicated to this you know.

Download movie - A simple method would be to use TMPGEnc to encode it to MPEG-2 DVD compliant and then author it with your favorite program. I recommend using Dazzle DVD Complete.

Use Nero 5.5.10.28 to burn to DVD

Thats all - if you want more detail go to www.doom9.net

I have tried to use TEMPGEnc and sometimes the video will be put on there but it wont open the audio, or vice versa
