I have burnt DVDs successfully with my system for a while. I recently installed a new hard disk and may have messed something up. I have updated the firmware for my burner and reinstalled and updated nero. However I have tried burning images and video files but I get the following error; any help would be greatly appreciated: Nero: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 26/10/2004 06:35:34 PM Nero Version: 6.6.0.16 Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 16b Recorder: <_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A> Version: 102B - HA 0 TA 0 - 6.6.0.16 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A>Version: 102B - HA 0 TA 0 - 6.6.0.16 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : BENQ DVD DD DW1620 atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off DiskPeripheral : SAMSUNG HD160JJ atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : NERO IMAGEDRIVE2 2.26 imagedrv Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off === CDRom-Device-Map === _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A D: CDRom0 BENQ DVD DD DW1620 E: CDRom1 NERO IMAGEDRIVE2 J: CDRom2 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1022MB (1046596kB) Free physical memory: 590MB (604792kB) Memory in use : 42 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 18.8.2006 UDF/ISO compilation 08:42:18 PM #1 Phase 112 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files reallocation started 08:42:18 PM #2 Phase 114 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 08:42:18 PM #3 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 6356 UDF document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 UDF Mode : UDF/ISO bridge UDF Revision : 1.02 UDF Partition Type : physical ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet :FALSE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 08:42:18 PM #4 Phase 111 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 DVD-Video files sorted 08:42:18 PM #5 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 08:42:18 PM #6 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3309 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 08:42:18 PM #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3309 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 08:42:18 PM #8 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3233 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 08:42:18 PM #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 270 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2286111 (508:01.36, 4465MB) 08:42:18 PM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 282 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 08:42:18 PM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2483 Recorder: _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: MBI 01 - RG40 Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193 08:42:18 PM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 448 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 08:42:18 PM #13 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 838 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 () 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2286112 (2286112) = #2286112/508:1.37 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/ required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2286112 blocks [_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A] -------------------------------------------------------------- 08:42:18 PM #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1051 Prepare recorder [_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; hello ravi, Not good quality of disks DMA's are off heres how u get them on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 looks like a media related porblem again looks like media prob. u can try and use better media this is the best media u can get Taiyo Yuden(Online) Verbatims Sony(MIJ) Maxell(MIJ) Fuji(MIJ) MIJ=made in Japan edit there is a firmware update, that might help with those disks u r using, but still u should try better media http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2110
Hello. This isn't very good quality media. It's best to always use good quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony. There's a newer firmware 104C available for your burner here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2110 The DMA transfer mode is off for this drive for some reason, possibly a series of communication errors on the IDE cgannel. Reset the IDE channel transfer mode as follows: Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button. Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers by clicking the + symbol. Right click on the Primary IDE Channel and select Uninstall. Right click on the Secondary IDE Channel and select Uninstall. Restart the system. I will also note you have your HDD on the secondary IDE channel and the DVD drives on the primary channel. Did your system come configured that way or did you set it up that way? You might want to swap the IDE cables. Unhook the cable from the HDD and instead cable to the DVD drives. Unhook the cable from the DVD drives and instead hookup to the HDD. Of course, the system needs to be shutdown before doing this. If you do this you will not have to reset the transfer modes as described above. They will reset automatically upon restart. Version 6.6.0.18 is a little better version. If you upgrade, run the Nero 6 Clean Tool first: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/Nero_6_CleanTool.html Nero 6.6.0.18 is available here: Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe You're setup to burn all the way to the outer edge of the disk. This sometimes causes problems as the likelihood of a burn failure is a little greater at the outer edge where dye sometimes thins. It's a good preventative measure to select the custom target size option in your authoring software, instead of the default DVD5 size, and use a size of 4350 or 4400MB.
so far the firmware hasnt wrked and am updating nero now, it seems newer updates are avilable in the US. Other than that im just gonna try a differant dick when i can get one. I cant change the HDD (SATA II) and DVD drive as the have differant conections. I Added the BenQ and 2nd HDD recently, but the BenQ gives out of phase audio and tends to make my system crash. Also since this i tend to get a blue screen when my PC fails to shut down, i think it says phisical memory error or some thing.
hi ravi, I missed it in my first post, but laddyboy pointed it out that u should change the output size when making ur backups If u r using shrink heres how try 4360 or lower
