    if you are getting a read error try cleaning the disk. And is it the same movie or all movies? It could be a dirty lens in your drive that needs cleaning.

    Just go to Wal Mart somewhere and buy a CD Lens Cleaner. It should specify where it can be used. ie. cd player, dvd player, computer, etc. I think there are ones specificly for car audio, so don't get that one.

    And as previously stated, make sure that anything you put into you drive is not dirty. ...that includes cat hair.

    Hello again.

    I think it would be helpful to know the make and model of your DVD burner and the firmware version.

    Download DVD Identifier from the following link and run it:

    http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

    Select the name of your DVD burner in the Drive Selection and Drive Capabiliies menu.

    Post back to this thread exactly what appears in the menu selection box. It should be the exact hardware identification (name) of your burner and the firmware version will be inside the square brackets, e.g. [ ].

    I have been burning for the last three years with a noname DVD+RW drive. On a Leadtek motherboard computer. I have used Record Now Max for making copies of CDs and DVDs. I beleive in February of last year. I bought DVD-X-COPY from Fry's electronics it did not work that well, I did make one or two copies that worked. Then in I think October I bought DVD-X-COPY Platnium edition and it came with DVD-X-RESCUE which I use all the time to fix DVDs that have scratches etc. in them. It also has made copy after copy of other DVDs that I own so when I lend them to my friends to watch they dont hand me back a fucked up disc. A few of them will borrow my DVD then throw it around and play hocky with it on the floor of there livingroom.
    I got excited when I received an email from AFTERDAWN abour DVD neXt COPY, so I bought it and I tried to make a copy for 30 days 24 hrs a day straight it burned (completed) three discs all dysfunctional in that time it burned about eight messed up discs. So I got my money back I still use DVD-X-RESCUE/PLATNIUM alone. The company 321 Studios still owe me a forty dollar rebate. What do any of you have to say about DVD-NEXT-COPY?

    @aec396,
    forget the programs you have been wasting your money on, try the free download of DVD Shrink here on this site. If you want to spend money on a program, purchase a copy of AnyDVD. With the combo of Shrink and AnyDVD, you will no longer have any issues.
