Hi, i have a reasonably large collection of movies on my external hard drive, i have an iMac (new one), and i need some help with burning my avi files to dvd. Basically i already have toast v8.0 and that is fine for doing the whole job, but it takes too long to do repeatedly. What i what is to be able to convert the avi files to a format where they are still stored on the computer, but in a format that is ready to be written straight onto a DVD so that whenever a friend comes round and wants me to burn a movie onto a DVD for him it takes 10 minutes as opposed to over an hour. Is this possible? and if so can you help me and tell me how to do this. Thankyou for any help you can provide
Can the iMacs run PC apps? If so Super will convert avi to DVD files. Super is not great but it is free. Good ones cost money. Avi contains less detail than DVDs, they are better for small screens that goes for the DVDs made from avis. Toast must convert then burn. You might want to post a request for a good avi to DVD converter on the Mac forum.
