I have 4 dvd burners 2 pioneer 109, 1 samsung 2008, 1 lite-on 2008 and i'm trying to burn my movie but each burn comes up with a error on 1% burn one say illegal disc the other say invalid burn. I bought a 100 tdk 60 was all 1% error I just got 100pack verbatim so far 25 is 1% error I tried a media on my friends pioneer 115 burner and it burned fine is it my burner or media that's the problem.

use a program called dvdfab decrypter and then go and shrink it with either dvd shrink and then burn it with nero and make sure u are burning at 4x with dvd movies.

Also to answer another question i have is who the manafacturer of the discs are?

Use a program called dvd indentifier you will find it listed on my profile page, put your blank disc in and then hit identify and then post the results and let me know??

    hope that helps...

    Hi,

    a little clarification is needed

    1) use fixvts or vob blanker prior to use of dvd shrink (dvd fab does not produce the cleanest rips)
    2) dvd shrink and Nero 8 and 9 are inconpatible, best to burn with Imgburn after dvd shrink

I only use nero 9 because it lets you verify your burns because I have some movies (VIDEO_TS) on my HDD and before I use to burn them and think they was good. But some came out bad but with nero I can burn them and verify that there good burns. For my movies I only use clonedvd with anydvd and I still get some error.

You know that the verification 'feature' in Nero (and other burning programs) can't be trusted, right ?

So far every verification has all be correct.

Verification is extremely hit and miss. CRC scanning is infinitely more reliable.

I think I found the problem I realize this started after I updated Kaspersky Internet Security 7 to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 (8.0.0.506) before my pioneer would fail every burn at 1% but when I disable kaspersky I've burned 4 straight movies with my pioneer. I'm going to roll back to version 7 to see if that's really the problem I'll post back soon...

It's CONFIRM Kaspersky 2009 SCREWED ME out of 34 Disc. Since I Reinstalled kaspersky 7.0.0.125 I've made 6 straight Burns without any problems. Is there a way that I can get a replacement on these disc 24 Verbatim 10 Nexxtech

there is something in the program that's interfering with all my burning software the only way to burn is if I disable it leaving me unprotected.

I use AVG Free (v8.0) on all my machines, and can vouch that it doesn't interfere with burning or any other programs.
I still maintain that you need to stop relying on the flawed verification feature and switch to CRC scanning but it's your loss at the end of the day :)

CRC is data corruption. Verification features/Burning programs aren't capable of detecting corruption properly, hence why i always suggest to do CRC scanning. I only ever CRC scan when i change burning programs and/or buy a new burner, i do a few scans until i'm happy with the program/burner, then i don't scan again.

See here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/319812#1860040 and the link mentioned within it.
