DVD Burning Speed

    My DVD Burner is 16x and i am using sony 8x discs but the burning speed doesnt go higher then 1.52x when backing up my dvds i even have the sttings to fastest burning do u know wut my problem is?

    Double check all connections and jumpers.

    Go into device manager and check the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
    Open up each controller for primary and secondary/and click advanced settings tab and look for UDMA/DMA/or if available. You may have 1 or more channels in pio mode which is bad.That will slow it down.

    When you find the one/s in pio mode: Click driver tab/uninstall/and reboot.More than 1 in pio mode,then uninstall 1 channel at a time and reboot. Windows xp should reboot and place the transfer mode into DMA or UDMA mode.
