@rods48 May not be the burner but the discs you are using - Princo Pretty bad - not a quality manufacturer. So let's try some quality stuff like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or made in Japan Maxell. For instore Taiyos look for made in Japan Fuji or Sony. These usually id as being made by Taiyo. let us know how that turns out - good, bad or otherwise!
@rods48 Another thing to note. You only have 256MB of memory and 59% of it is in use. You really need to add more RAM to your system. Run a disk cleanup on your box and defrag the hard disk too.
@rods48 Do the defrag and disc cleanup too - that's good advice from waynekusa. That's part of regular 'maintenance' - a good thing for pc's. edit: spelling
rods48 has opened up another thread here with the same problem. I wasted a lot of time looking at the same problem many of you already worked on, and gave the same advice. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/345244#2026354 **edit** and rods48 already heard all of your good suggestions before in this thread, and didnt listen or change MEDIA, DMA, or MEMORY as suggested back in 7 April 2006. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/327074
i would like to see a pic of your processors though to see how many are running. Can you upload a pic for us to see, similar to the one below. guy
I will link you to how to do a screen capture and image host using windows paint program (free) and hosting the image at imageshack (it is also free). Go to where alkohol starts posting screen caps in this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259299 and here is one on using imageshack http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/252375 I started to do a blog on how to do this, but didnt complete it. It does show the first page of Imageshack. http://my.afterdawn.com/maxburn/blog_entry.cfm/330 The paint program is in Start>Programs>Accessories **edit** Here is where the original problem thread is open and where to post: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/327074
