Dvd converters?????

    Hi can any one help me ive just been givin a sony nwz-a818 as abirthday present an am trying to convert a movie to mp4 but everyone i ask cant guarentee it will go onto this device (they all seem to be dedicated to ipod, psp, creative etc ive searched the internet and found allsorts, but dont want to purchase one unless i know for sure, someone mentioned the new nero 8 but then back tracked and said it wouldnt......help, apologies for my stupidity!

    I'm not so sure that will do it.
    there are quite a few mp4 converters which are free..

    internet video converter (ivc) is one which I have experimented with, though TBH I prefer running ffmpeg from the command line for more control.

    Which gives me all the clues I need to set up ffmpeg for this device. You can make a custom profile for IVC to do just that.
    Avidemux will also work, but will need a fair bit of setting and tweaking to get everything just right.
