I had a friend give me a dvd burned, but I cant figure out a way to rip or convert. It plays on the comp, but not on the home dvd player. It dont even have vobs in it...it has five folders named cdi, ext, mpegav, segment, and vcd. How do I convert this to regular dvd format? I cant even figure out a way to get in on the hard drive either. I tried dragging from the dvd to a folder on the desktop, but it comes up with a error and cant transfer.
I'm afraid your friend gave you a VCD. you can find a good guide to use with Isobuster (a really good program, fast and easy too) for converting from VCDs to DVDs here http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/convert/vcdtodvd/vcdtodvd.htm If you need help feel free to ask!
Ok thank you for the help. I used isobuster and it worked. Now I have another problem. I am using mainconcept encoder. The brand new version. When I first pop it up it sais failed to load file. Then when I set it for dvd output, it spits out mpegs iinstead of vobs. Help!!!!
