I have about 350 DVD's bought over time, all my mates borrow them, and sometimes they come back damaged, (sometimes they just don't come back...). I bought a samsung dvd writer for my computer to make backups of them. Got the drives with it, installed correctly. It reads all types of dvd's and burns all types of dvdr's. Reads cd's, burns 'em alright. My software is Anydvd/Clone Dvd2 for my films. Also got Nero for my music.
When i burn an mp3 dvd it burns perfectly without problems. Data dvd also comes perfect and clean.
When i burn a film on a dvdrw, 10/10 come out fine, when i try to burn them on a dvdr, chances are that i'll burn it on the 3rd or 4th attempt! That means that to burn 1 film i'll ruin 3 or 4 disks!! When that happens, the computer freezes after 2 or 3% into the burning, crashing the program. Cant be the disks otherwise it just wouldn't burn anything. Tried to uninstall one of the burning programs but it does the same. It's so frustrating and expensive, it's driving me crazy. Help?

    hello

i hear you but i still say its the dvdr's!

use dvd indentifier to get the media codes off the dics and post back!

also an update on firmware may suffice if the media is good!

also to note speed of burning is critical! and now you have had errors your DMA on drives may have been turned off?
